The corn race that i lost...

Oh it has been such an exciting week since my last post. We went to the wedding celebration of the season.. Dad and Tracy. His real name is Andrew but ever since I've known him, everyone calls him Dad or several other discriminating names which don't need to be mentioned. I always have fun with Dunlap folks; there is no words to describe the Dunlap family. For those of you who don't know, Dunlap is the "village" that my hubs is from and his group of friends is one of a kind. They say I love you and hug each other. You might have seen a few pictures on Facebook of our weekend but I will recap. Some of these photos are taken from Alexa, wife of Jared. She was the paparazzi for the weekend.

After the rehearsal dinner, we headed out to the local Civic Center in Alta, a.k.a. Last Chance. The bar was packed with people. It was great.

STASH BOY

i decided this is my favorite picture from the trip. Not only is my braid awesome but I look super happy. And there is a creepo behind me which is slightly hilarious.

hah so this is the best picture i found to describe the weekend. haha
NOTE: In order to freak out Tracy, all the main men in the wedding decided to show up on Friday with mustaches.. ahhaha She politely asked them all to shave before the wedding day but it was so wonderful for a few days. I laughed the whole time!

Saturday was the wedding! It was in a beautiful church and the weather was perfect! The reception was so much fun with a candy bar and glow in the dark necklaces. Did I mention the late night pizza?
This crowd is a dancing machine and we all danced the night away.

The entire Dunlap crew. A lot of people I didn't know from Tracy's grade. Did I mention Dad hooked the guys up with Maui Jims Sunglasses for free. A friend, Frannie, works for them. beautiful bride and groom.

the paparazzi herself. alexa! love her! Dancing fool.

The couple themselves. We had candy necklaces all night long.

Jenny and Jess, i think Jenny won the night

Post wedding. The wedding party and their dates had an awesome party bus for the ride into the city!! All in all, it was an awesome weekend minus the fact that we lost our keys. Thankfully, a friend drove all the way from Estes to the airport with a spare key. Coming soon.... our first snow storm!!! until then, cheers.

Interstate Stash what?

Friday night was so much fun as always!! After Rock climbing, we went home and I made crepes! I wish I had pictures! It was my first time and they turned out delicious! I used some left over veggies, mashed potatoes and ham from our Canadian Thanksgiving for the filling. yum yum. and then of course, I couldn't make crepes without making a sweet one. Nutella and Strawberries. I made that one again on Saturday morning. I want to learn all the different types!! After crepes, we flooded the Rock Inn.. I think they were happy to see us! My dear friend Kristen made mustaches for us to wear, to support the band of course! As successful weekend all in all. This coming weekend, we are flying to Chicago and then to Peoria for a friends wedding!! An entire weekend of celebration with the Dunlap crowd. Get ready, here we come!!

Edge of timeeeeeeeeeeee

This past weekend in Estes Park was one for the record books. It is mid October and I wore a T-shirt!! Now this is only during the daytime but still, it was so lovely. It gave us plenty of opportunity to play in the great outdoors! Friday, Kev got off work a little early and we wasted no time. It was off to  Lilly mountains Jurassic Park. Even though it's 15 minutes up the road and a rather steep hike, we had never adventured here! It was lovely, at least while the sun was out.

We went rock climbing in an awesome area on top a mountain nestled between two rock faces. We only passed one family on the way so we had the whole place to ourselves!
Unforchunately, we only climbed 3 routes total (once that sun goes down, the wind picks up and I thought we might freeze).

looking behind me

I made it to the top!

can you see the pula?

hah a little chalk on the face.

only thing holding me up

can you see the other climber. they are wearing red!
Kev climbed this awesome one called Edge of Time. I didn't climb it because by then, I was freezing and ready to get warmed up but next time!

such the perfect mountain man for me!!
by the time we hiked back down, there was a lovely sunset

Thankfully the hubs let me where his jacket.

A Friday afternoon well spent. Friday night we went to the ROCK INN!! Pictures to come!

Elk in the outfield

afternoon nap

if you look closely, you can spot one jumping the fence

scared for my life that they might jump the dog park fence and attack me

pula
As you have heard from my previous posts, Elk are taking over Estes Park. On Tuesday, we arrived at the dog park to find it surrounded with Elk. They were everywhere in the surrounding fields. I wonder who runs this town because there were so many elk, kids couldn't even have soccer practice! That is until they started kicking balls at the elk at which time a huge herd starting running and jumping the fence. The hubs and I were there to witness it all and luckily, had the camera for proof.

Thanksgiving was a SUCCESS!!!

On Monday, otherwise known as Columbus Day, we had a delicious celebration of CAnadians. The evening, which began at 6pm, was filled with ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green been casserole, my favorite cheese ball and all the salad a girl could ask for. We all filled our bellies to to brim. Every bit of 15 people squeezed into our tiny one bedroom house. We ate on tables and floors, each others laps and even standing up but it didn't matter, we were having too much fun to care! The music was mellow with my new favorite obsession, Iron Horse covering Modest Mouse; we danced and sang and swayed. Did i mention most people wore sweaters or vests, flannel and even scarves. haha

Trivia Pursuit

My friend Kristen and I cooked most I of the food that day. I felt blessed to be surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and such great people including my husband who did all the clean-up. Thanks hubs!

This week also starts the beginning of my boredom. Timeout has officially moved to winter hours, only open 3-10pm mon-thurs and then normal hours on the weekends. So I told my boss I don't need to take away hours from everyone else when I will be starting my new job on October 24th. Dumb Idea. I can't just sit around for two weeks. I am already thinking about all the new movies I can watch and even contemplating a run around the lake.... but thats only if I am really desperate. I would rather hike before I run.

In other news, I got to talk to one of my bestie yesterday and ichated with another last week! and hopefully will talk to the others this week.
I really miss my friends. I am making new friends but it just isn't that same. I doubt I will ever have such great friends as I did back home.

I think this friday is another good band at the Rock Inn and hopefully, my camera will be ready this time!

Did I mention we had our first snow on Saturday!! It was gorgeous! 4 inches. of course, it melted the next day but that night, we had friends over to watch Out Cold and drink hot tea with chocolate chip butterscotch oatmeal cookies which were so gooey. I think I am ready for fall, not winter. Hopefully, we don't skip a season.
